Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

Welcome to OpenWeeknight. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the service.

By creating an account or using OpenWeeknight, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Standards. If you do not agree, do not use OpenWeeknight.

Important points

You must be at least 16 years old to use OpenWeeknight.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

You retain ownership of your content while giving OpenWeeknight the limited rights needed to operate the service.

Private rooms and Direct Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.

OpenWeeknight may moderate content, rooms, and accounts when necessary.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, subject to mandatory rights that may apply where you live.

Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the person or legal entity operating OpenWeeknight.

By accessing or using OpenWeeknight, creating an account, or continuing to use the service after updated Terms take effect, you agree to follow these Terms.

You also agree to our Privacy Policy and Community Standards.

If you are using OpenWeeknight on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.

Who provides the service

OpenWeeknight is currently provided under the OpenWeeknight name.

The legal operator may be identified or updated on this page, through our Contact page, or in another notice made available through the service.

References to “OpenWeeknight”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the person or legal entity operating the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use OpenWeeknight.

By using the service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and are legally able to agree to these Terms.

You must not create or use an account if you have previously been permanently removed from OpenWeeknight unless we have given you written permission to return.

Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account information
  • Keeping your login credentials and email account secure
  • Activity that occurs through your account
  • Keeping your profile and contact information reasonably current

You may use a display name, but you must not impersonate another person or mislead members about who you are.

You must not sell, transfer, rent, share, or give another person access to your account.

Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use OpenWeeknight to:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or target another person
  • Promote hate, discrimination, violence, exploitation, or illegal activity
  • Encourage, instruct, celebrate, or pressure another person to harm themselves
  • Commit fraud, scams, extortion, financial exploitation, deception, or impersonation
  • Share another person's private or sensitive information without permission
  • Send spam, unsolicited promotions, repetitive messages, or manipulative engagement
  • Distribute malware, phishing links, harmful code, or deceptive links
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to an account, device, system, or private information
  • Use bots, scripts, scraping, automated accounts, or AI tools in a way that disrupts, abuses, misrepresents, or overloads the service
  • Copy, scrape, index, collect, or reuse platform information through automated means without permission

  • Submit knowingly false, retaliatory, or malicious reports
  • Violate our Community Standards or applicable law

Public conversations, private rooms, and Direct Messages

Public conversations may be visible to members who can access the room and may be reached through discovery or shared links.

Private rooms are limited according to their membership, invitation, approval, and discoverability settings.

Direct Messages are intended for the participants in that conversation.

Private conversations are not guaranteed to remain confidential. Participants may copy, screenshot, or share content they can see.

Private rooms and Direct Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.

OpenWeeknight may access or process relevant information for service operation, support, safety, security, moderation, enforcement, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Do not use private spaces for behaviour that would break these Terms or the Community Standards elsewhere on the service.

Member content

You retain ownership of content you create, upload, send, or share, subject to rights held by other people and applicable law.

By submitting content to OpenWeeknight, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, format, and make technical copies of that content as reasonably needed to operate, secure, maintain, moderate, and provide the service.

This licence may include technical copies, previews, notifications, search indexing within the service, safety processing, backups, and other processing needed to deliver and protect OpenWeeknight.

The licence does not give OpenWeeknight ownership of your content or permission to use private content in advertising without separate permission.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate law, these Terms, the Community Standards, or another person's rights.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload or share your content through OpenWeeknight.

Message edits and deletions

OpenWeeknight may allow you to edit or delete your own messages.

An edited message may display an Edited label, and a deleted message may display a deletion notice.

Earlier versions, deletion records, and related information may be retained for service integrity, abuse prevention, investigations, disputes, enforcement, evidence preservation, or legal compliance.

Removing content from normal member view does not guarantee immediate or complete deletion from systems, backups, security records, or authorised moderation records.

Rooms, memberships, and hosts

Members may create, own, moderate, or host rooms subject to available features and account permissions.

Room owners and moderators are responsible for using available tools appropriately, including room names, descriptions, categories, visibility settings, rules, invitations, membership decisions, join policies, polls, notices, and moderation controls.

Room rules cannot override these Terms or the Community Standards.

Room owners and moderators must not use their powers to punish ordinary disagreement, unfairly target members, retaliate against reports, or evade OpenWeeknight enforcement.

OpenWeeknight may edit, restrict, hide, remove, suspend, transfer, or close a room if it violates our policies, creates a safety or legal risk, becomes abandoned, or materially harms the service or its members.

Direct Messages and blocking

Direct Message availability may depend on the recipient's privacy settings and prior interaction.

You must stop contacting a person when they clearly ask you to stop.

Blocking prevents further Direct Messages between blocked members, but may not remove earlier messages or prevent both members from appearing in the same public or shared room.

Do not use another account, another member, an invitation, or a shared room to evade a block or continue unwanted contact.

Member interactions

OpenWeeknight does not verify every identity, statement, claim, profile, room, message, invitation, opportunity, or relationship created through the service.

You are responsible for deciding whether to communicate with another member, share information, join a private room, open a link, send money, meet someone offline, or continue a relationship outside OpenWeeknight.

Use reasonable judgement and review our Safety Centre before meeting someone or sharing sensitive information.

Reports, feedback, and moderation

Members may report messages, conversations, invitations, rooms, profiles, or accounts and may submit feedback or support requests.

OpenWeeknight may review reports and relevant platform information to investigate suspected violations, safety concerns, fraud, abuse, security incidents, or illegal activity.

A report may include the reported content and relevant surrounding context.

Authorised members of the review team may search or review room conversations for moderation, safety, platform integrity, support, security, and legal purposes.

Human review of Direct Messages is generally limited to content connected to a report, safety concern, moderation case, security investigation, support matter, dispute, or legal obligation.

Administrative access may be recorded in access logs.

OpenWeeknight may use automated rules or systems to identify possible spam, scams, threats, abuse, or policy violations for human review.

Automated indicators do not guarantee that a violation occurred and do not necessarily result in enforcement by themselves.

OpenWeeknight may:

  • Remove, restrict, label, or preserve content
  • Limit access to a conversation, room, Direct Message, or feature
  • Remove, restrict, transfer, or close rooms
  • Issue warnings
  • Suspend, restrict, restore, or terminate accounts
  • Preserve or disclose information when reasonably required for safety, security, legal compliance, disputes, fraud prevention, enforcement, or an investigation

Moderation decisions are based on the information reasonably available at the time and may occur without prior notice when appropriate.

Internal notes, assignment records, access logs, enforcement methods, and investigative techniques may remain confidential.

Moderation evidence and holds

OpenWeeknight may attach reported messages and selected surrounding messages to a moderation case.

Attached evidence may include message text, edit history, deletion status, timestamps, account information, room information, uploaded files, reports, and related records.

Authorised personnel may place attached evidence under a hold that prevents permanent deletion while it is reasonably needed for an investigation, safety, security, enforcement, disputes, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Loading or viewing surrounding context does not automatically attach or preserve every displayed message.

Third-party services

OpenWeeknight may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, databases, infrastructure, storage, content delivery, email, communications, analytics, monitoring, security, and other functions.

This may include services used for Google sign-in and other account-authentication functions.

Third-party links and services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

OpenWeeknight, its owner, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, representatives, and partners are not responsible for third-party content, products, conduct, or services that OpenWeeknight does not control.

Fees and paid features

OpenWeeknight is currently offered without a general membership fee.

We may introduce optional paid features, subscriptions, services, or purchases in the future.

Any applicable price, billing period, renewal terms, refund terms, and additional conditions will be shown before you make a purchase.

We will not charge you for a paid feature unless you choose to purchase it or otherwise clearly authorise the charge.

Service availability and changes

OpenWeeknight is continually being developed.

Features may be added, changed, limited, suspended, or removed. We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available.

We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device or browser.

We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security, legal compliance, technical problems, or other operational reasons.

Account deletion and retention

You may stop using OpenWeeknight at any time and may request account deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.

We aim to complete ordinary account deletion within 90 days after receiving and verifying a valid request.

Limited information may be retained longer for legal obligations, safety, fraud prevention, security, disputes, enforcement, backups, moderation evidence, or evidence holds.

Deleting an account does not automatically remove every message, report, moderation record, backup, or item of evidence connected to the account.

Feedback and suggestions

You may submit ideas, suggestions, comments, or other feedback about OpenWeeknight.

By providing feedback, you allow OpenWeeknight to use, adapt, develop, and incorporate that feedback into the service without payment, restriction, or obligation to you.

This does not transfer ownership of unrelated content or private information you submit through Help & Feedback.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using OpenWeeknight at any time.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access if we reasonably believe that:

  • You violated these Terms, the Community Standards, or law
  • Your account presents a safety, security, fraud, or legal risk
  • You attempted to evade a previous restriction or enforcement action
  • Continued access may materially harm OpenWeeknight, its owner, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, representatives, partners, members, or others

Action may be taken without prior notice when reasonably necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of the service.

Provisions that should reasonably continue after termination will remain in effect. This includes content licences, moderation and evidence provisions, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnity, intellectual-property rights, dispute terms, and retained records.

General legal terms

Assignment

You may not transfer your account or your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written permission.

OpenWeeknight may transfer these Terms, rights, or obligations as part of a reorganisation, financing, merger, acquisition, transfer of ownership, or sale of all or part of the service.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary. The remaining parts will continue to apply.

No waiver

If OpenWeeknight does not enforce a provision immediately, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.

Entire agreement

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Community Standards, and any additional terms presented for a particular feature form the agreement between you and OpenWeeknight concerning the service.

Headings

Section headings are included for convenience and do not limit the meaning of these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as OpenWeeknight, our practices, or legal requirements change.

Updated Terms become effective when published or on a later date stated in the notice.

If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the service, by email, or through another reasonable method.

Continuing to use OpenWeeknight after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law and courts

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.

Subject to any rights you have under mandatory applicable law, disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or OpenWeeknight will be submitted to the courts of Singapore.

Nothing in these Terms removes consumer, privacy, or other legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
